Motherhood makes Beyonce feel "More Beautiful than ever"

As many of you may know, new mother, Beyonce was named "World's Most Beautiful" by People Magazine. In the spread for the magazine she dished on motherhood, her new natural look that she's been sporting and her work out regimen to get her body back in shape. Take a look at some of the interview here:

On how Blue Ivy changed her body:
My toes and feet are a lot rougher since I have become a mom.  Other than that, I try to take care of myself drinking a gallon of water a day with lemon.
On Jay-Z loving her domestic look:
He loves it when I wear flat shoes, which is surprising – he never saw me in flats before! He likes me more natural – just the relaxed, natural me.’
On embracing motherhood:
I'm obsessed with Blue.  And I mean that in many ways.  I just stare at her all day.  She is my favorite thing in the world and my number one job is to protect her.

On her newfound love for flats
I never thought there would be a day when I wouldn't wear heels.  Now that I have a child, I walk around holding her all day, I'm buying loafers and oxfords. I love the, because they're comfortable, and shorter heels too.
On dropping the glam squad to handle her hair herself
'I recently cut two inches myself - I just parted it in the middle and chh-chh-chh!'
On getting her body right post-baby
Beyoncé revealed how breast-feeding her little one for ten weeks helped her lose ‘the bulk’ of her pregnancy weight, but that she’s now on a strict-protein based diet. She now works out three times a week for 90 minutes, doing a combination of running, dancing and crunches. "I’m definitely softer, but I feel my body bouncing back.  And no, I don't have a trainer living with me."
On adjusting how she sees herself post-baby
Every day in my life is a part of my history, and I've worked really hard on my career and my life.  So I make sure I wouldn't be upset if somebody saw me. I've been mostly wearing my hair slicked back in a ponytail and no makeup, just sunglasses and lip gloss...When I've just gotten out of the shower, I feel really beautiful then.  When [my makeup] is off and I can feel my own skin.
On her in-labor look
I tried to always wrap my hair and I put some lipgloss on before going in.  But after many hours of labor, I didn't care how I looked.

Vogue Russia: Fierce Mom on the go

Let's make no mistake, I am not a mother yet (not quite ready for that step lol), however I fell in LOVE with this shoot featuring Maryna Linchuk in the May issue of Vogue Russia, and can only hope that I am this fierce when I become a mother. So inspirational.

This shoot features Maryna channeling her inner Victoria Beckham by being a fierce mom on the go!

The shoot features many of this season's hot list items such as the Christian Louboutin Unbout Clear pumps! They have been seen on Lala Vaquez, Beyonce, Rihanna, and Alicia Keys. Everyone knows that I love the Pigalle's so I almost lost my mind when I first saw these on Rihanna at the 2012 Grammy's.

I hope everyone is doing well and getting ready for the weekend! I just started a new job and I have never been so happy to see a Friday Lol.

Basics: Amped Up

Sometimes it's great to keep it simple and go back to the basics! You can't go wrong with a stripe top and a pair of jeans. To amp this look up a bit, I added a pair of orange and pink pumps. You all know how I feel about orange and pink, so I couldn't pass these shoes up when I spotted them for only 16 bucks.

Totally into cuffed jeans at the moment

Happy Easter!

Hey Everyone! This post features a few of the latest trends for Spring/Summer 2012.

Yesterday while getting ready to hang out with my family and do a little accessory shoping, I decided to play up the color blocking and pastel trend. I wore a pair of mint jeans (in love) and a chiffon top. While I could've stopped there, I decided to add another dimension to this spring outfit by adding my favorite pair of shoes of the moment, some color block sandals.

Take a look:

Top: Torrid c/o

Watch: Michael Kors (Rose Gold)

I really love the color combination and the way this look came together! What do you think?

I hope everyone is having a great Easter and spending it with your loved ones :)

Solange Shares Her Essential Pieces

I am definitely a fan of Solange's eclectic style, though it's not quite my style, I can still pull inspiration from her. So I was excited to see her interview on Garance Dore.

Take a peek at the interview here:

My Top: A silk white blouse.

It is for sure my most frequent purchase.
I have them in several different cuts and wear them with everything.
You know the famous scene in Forest Gump, where he names all of the different ways Bubba Gump can prepare shrimp?
I feel the same ways about all the different styles I can name of white silk blouse’s.
A sleeveless, a short sleeved, a quarter sleeved, a long sleeved, a spaghetti strap, a silk chiffon, a silk satin, oh the list can go on. I think they are so easy, simple, and comfortable.
My favorite is a sleeveless v-neck by Vince.

My Bottom: A printed pant.
I missed out on pants for way too many years of my life.
I was an avid skirt wearer from ages 13-22.
As a young girl, I made the common mistake of defining classic girly-ness and sexiness by showing my legs.
Since I found the right pants 3 years ago, it’s been hard to keep me out of them.
Opening Ceremony, DFV and Marni all make great ones in wonderful prints.

My Jeans: It is a rare occurrence that I wear jeans…but if I do denim, oversized vintage Levis.

My Evening: A simple silhouette dress in an amazing print or striking bright color.
Yellow and fuchsia tones are my favorite to wear.
I also love a nice clean white.
I’m extremely experimental with prints and colors, which I think draw me to a more minimalist design in terms of silhouettes and proportions.

My Intimates: Easy and comfortable American Apparel Tri-Blend Halter Romper in Gray.

My Coat: Anything in leopard. Somehow it just always seems to work with everything in my closet.
This past Fall/Winter I lived in my Malene Birger one.

My Bag: I have to admit, I’m not a big bag girl at all.
Maybe its because I don’t carry a lot of stuff, so the idea of buying this source to hold just my phone, keys, and wallet just doesn’t grab me.
It could also be that every time I see a bag I like, I see a shoe I like…and the shoe purchase wins over the bag one in my budget.
I do love a really funky clutch though, and often wear them during the day.

My Shoes: There’s not really any consistent measure of what I love in a shoe.
I really, truly, simply, just love shoes in general.
A beautiful designed shoe instantly sends my endorphins into overload.
The older my son gets, and his daily activities become a part of my life…the more I crave comfort.
These days it’s essential to have a sensible heel.
It would be absolutely a disservice to name one designer, as my closet really houses everything from Alaïa to Nine West.

My Accessories: Rings! Lia Sophia and Lorraine Schwartz are my faves. I love to stack them and pile as many of them as I possibly can.
I also live by my Aldo packs of simple studs. I go through about a pack every two months.

My Inspiration: My daily walks of life. I see inspiration in all alleys of my journey. The potato man my son made two nights ago, the super posh women I met in Moscow the other night, the street characters on Hollywood Blvd…. When it comes to what inspires me, God has created such a beautiful playground to explore and I want to see and breath every corner I can…

Solange also talks about her makeup, hair, and skin essentials. To check out the rest of her interview visit Garance Dore

Unpopular Opinion: Blazer Rut

Hi Everybody!! I just wanted to touch base with you all and let you in on a little challenge that I have set for my self. I know we all LOVE our blazers in different colors and shapes (I'm still on the prowl for an orange and a white one) however the "best staple piece" has become a crutch for me. I was noticing that I was throwing a blazer on with any and everything! I know that I am not the only one guilty of the "i'll just throw on a blazer" mentality because it just completes an outfit effortlessly (not to mention skimming right over those problem areas :). Having this mentality has hindered my creativity and all of my looks were starting to look identical, just different colors.

Note: This picture is only here for visual purposes. Ashley Olsen can do NO WRONG in my book :)

So with all of that said, of course I will not be omitting blazers from my wardrobe completely because they're just too fabulous, however, I have challenged myself to only wear a blazer if it is absolutely necessary for my look. Blazers are great for Color Blocking, the office, any many other occasions but not EVERY occasion REQUIRES one.

Do you think many people are beginning to use the blazer as a crutch? If so, let's get our creative juices flowing again and begin thinking outside of the box! Care to join me?
