PocketsandBows Takes New York: Indie Designer Fashion Show

While in NYC for Full Figured Fashion Week, I was able to attend the Indie Designer Fashion Show. This Fashion Show is known to be one of the highlight events for Full Figured Fashion Week because of the fresh faces on the runway, the new and unique designs, and the up and coming designers.

One of my favorite designers featured in the Indie Designer Fashion Show was Rue 114. The designer was heavily influence by the African cultured and that was displayed in her choice of fabrics! I loved how she incorporated traditional African prints while keeping her designs youthful carefree, and playful! Apparently everyone loved her designs because she one the award for Designer of the Year!

Here are a few of her designs that graced the runway:

And last but not least, a few pictures of what I wore to the show:

PocketsandBows Takes New York: Dorothy Perkins, Miss Selfridge, Evans & Wallis

While in New York for Full Figured Fashion Week, I had the pleasure of being invited to Arcadia's Press Event which featured the UK brands such as: Dorothy Perkins, Miss Selfridge and Evans!

Since this was a daytime event I wanted to wear something fun yet chic so I opted for my Grey Jumpsuit with Neon detailing. I also added Neon Accessories and and a pair of 60's inspired glasses which I love!

The always Glam Noel from the blog, Leglamprincess accompanied me to this event! Seems like we both had Neon on the brain! We were bright in Manhattan!

Here are a few pics from the Press Review...

PocketsandBows takes New York: Torrid's Fall Preview Event

Hi Guys!! Some of you may know that I attended this year's Full Figured Fashion week in New York City!

The first day that I arrived in NYC, I immediately got off the plane and headed to my first event which was Torrid's Exclusive Fall Preview Event! There was able to meet some of my favorite bloggers that I've been following for a while, which was very exciting!

As mentioned previously, went straight to the event from the airport so I wore something very comfortable and stuck with light airy colors!

I love this white leather vest! It was the perfect way to add a little something extra to my very casual look.

Vest/top: Forever 21
Jeans: Oldnavy Rockstar
Sandals: Sam Edelman c/o Karmaloop.com

On to the mixing and mingling!

I had the pleasure of meeting Gabifresh who I've followed for years and she was the first blogger to give me a platform on her blog which is what encouraged me to take my fashion blog to the next level!

I also met Kim of Naturally Fashionable! She is my kind of girl! We clicked instantly and I can say that we will be in touch for years to come!

{I hate that this pic came out blurry :0(}

It was great meeting the Fabulous Ivory from the blog IvoryJinelle! She wears a crop top like no other!

Last but definitely not least, I met Inez from Style360.com! Loved her! Very sweet and she exudes a positive energy!

Other than meeting my fellow blogging buddies, the jeans were my favorite part of Torrid's Fall Preview! They had some boyfriend jeans that were so flattering for us full figured girls! Definitely be on the look out for the new jeans on Torrid's site.

Stay tuned for more of my NYC recap :)

Talk you all very soon!

Peek-a-Boo

I wore this look before it became scorching hot here in the south.

The bright coral color an the peek-a-boo detailing is what attracted me to this blazer. So perfect for those breezy spring and summer days.

I decided to pair this bright blazer with a soft pastel mint top and topped everything off with my holographic pumps!

Holographic pieces are so on trend and these pumps pick up so many different colors, so they are perfect for those looks where you are not quite sure of what shoe to wear.

Blazer: Plndr
Top: Zara
Jeans: Target

Gladiator

I wore this to a baby shower and to Brandy's Concert! I originally wore my Nude Pigalle's to the baby shower but later slipped on these HOT gladiator sandals for the concert!

I am in love with this baby doll dress! I have so many styling ideas for it.

I paired this short and sweet dress with a pair of hot pants for coverage and for a pop of pastel color!

I love how rose gold jewelry offsets pastel colors!

This look was so perfect for the warm weather and I love how flirty and feminine it is.
